How To Throw The Ultimate Pool Party!
Summer is here, babes and you know what that means! It’s time for outdoor BBQs, family get-togethers, late nights with your friends, vacays and pool parties! In celebration of Summer, we wanted to kick off the season right by throwing not just any pool party, but the ultimate pool party! We’ve got you covered on everything from decor to playlists, with no details skipped in between so that you can throw the most wow-worthy pool party of the summer.
Make it Pretty
First and foremost, every party should start with a selection of great, curated decorations and a pool party is no exception! Picking a color scheme on the front end will help keep the entire event looking cohesive and well thought-out. We went with a pink and orange color scheme for our vibrant pool party! However, you can pick whatever color scheme you want! Once you’ve picked out a color scheme that fits your party and makes you swoon, you’ll want to zero in on decorations that coordinate and enhance that scheme. This will help keep you focused on what decor items you’ll need to make this party a success!
A simple way to add color to your pool party is by using bright floaties for the pool. Think of the pool as a space to be decorated and don’t be afraid to add a vibrant mix of pool floats and/or balloons. Balloons are an inexpensive way to add color to your pool if you’re short on pool floats and look absolutely insta-worthy! Either way, a vibrant pool of floats is not only beautiful, but functional. Guests can relax in style while sipping cocktails and swimming the day away.
Pro Tip: Make sure you have ample seating space at your party! Even though you’ll be poolside, guests will love the option to have a seat throughout the duration of your party. For our perfect pool party we made sure to include everything from a colorful pouf, vibrant lounge chairs, pillows, and bright floor cushions. We arranged our seating around small outdoor tables and trays of fruit to cultivate a casual dining experience!
For the finishing decorative touch, add fresh flowers to your tables for an extra hint of glam!
So Fresh, So Fab
What’s a pool party without a little something to snack on?! Our snack of choice for the ultimate pol party was fresh fruit! Not only does this make for a beautiful display, but it is the perfect poolside treat since it is both healthy and vibrant! We went with sweet watermelon, delicious pineapple, scrumptious oranges, yummy bananas and tasty strawberries for a quick and easy fruit tray DIY! For the display, cut a pineapple in half, scoop out the inside, cut the freshly removed inner pineapple into cubes, and then fill the hollowed out side of the pineapple with assorted fruit. Showcase the rest of the fruit on a platter with the pineapple top from the one you cut in half in the center for a gorgeous spread! Your guest will love having something tasty to treat themselves to between cocktails and convos! Pro Tip: This is also a great light snack to have if you have a main course being served later on in the day!
Cheers To Summer
Let’s not forget about the drinks! An easy way to take your pool party menu to the next level this summer is by having a signature drink! It sounds intimidating, but is actually super easy and will be more cost-effective than stocking a variety of drinks. For our signature Impressions Pool Party Cocktail we went with a pink drink because our fave color is blush, duh! Our signature drink could easily be made into a mocktail or a cocktail depending on what you’re in the mood for! For this shoot, we kept it simple with a mix of pink lemonade and 7-UP. To finish each drink, we added a strawberry and a slice of lemon on the rim of the glass. For a truly extra special touch, we topped off the drink with cute and inexpensive flamingo stirrers.
You can make this refreshing beverage into a cocktail by simply adding a splash of your fave vodka! If serving for a large crowd, you’ll want to pre-mix this drink into a large punch bowl to serve poolside. For just the right punchbowl display we recommend adding chilled, sliced lemons! They’ll keep the drink cool and float to the top for a look that is simply gorgeous. Place the completed beverages on a vibrant tray for a festive look your guests will swoon over!
