One of our favorite things to do (when we’re not working from home) is meeting up with our co-workers after work for drinks! With Cinco De Mayo coming up we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than margs + tacos! To celebrate this fun holiday, we’ve got you covered with some margarita recipes you can make in the comfort of your own home. Need something a little festive, but aren’t drinking alcohol right now? Don’t worry we’ve got you covered with our fave mocktail recipe!

You can’t go wrong with a classic margarita and this recipe checked all the boxes for us when it comes to a margarita! We found this recipe at Julie Blanner. It’s so easy and simple to make! 


Ingredients:

  • crushed ice
  • 3 parts tequila
  • 2 parts lime juice
  • 2 parts simple syrup
  • 1 part water

Directions:

Whisk or shake tequila, lime juice, simple syrup and water. Pour over crushed ice into a salt rimmed glass. Enjoy!

Switch things up with a fun twist on the margarita with this Watermelon Margarita recipe we found on The Forked Spoon

Ingredients:

  • 1 small seedless watermelon (or half of a large watermelon)

  • 1 tbsp ancho chili powder
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar or brown sugar
  • 2 ounces fresh watermelon juice
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 ounces tequila
  • Lime (cut into wedges)
  • Sliced watermelon (to garnish)

Directions:


  • Cube watermelon, toss in blender and blend watermelon. 
  • Add 2 ounces of watermelon juice, 1-ounce lime juice, 1.5 ounces of tequila, and a scoop of ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously to combine and chill. 
  • Add the chili powder, salt, and sugar to a shallow plate and mix together to combine. Using your favorite cocktail glass, run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Dip your glass into the chili salt mixture, tilting the glass slightly to completely coat the surface. 
  • Fill each glass with ice and set them aside. Pour watermelon, tequila mixture into each glass and enjoy!

Last but definitely not least is our fave mocktail margarita! Not drinking this Cinco De Mayo? No worries - we’ve got you! We found this fab mocktail recipe from “Liz on Call” and can’t wait for you to recreate it.


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups limeade
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1/2 – 1 cup club soda
  • Sugar and coarse salt for rim
  • Limes for garnish
  • Ice

Directions:

  • In a small pitcher, mix together limeade, orange juice and simple syrup. 
  • Mix together equal parts sugar and coarse salt and pour onto a plate.
  • Slice lime and run lime slice around the rim of each glass and then dip it into the sugar/salt mixture to coat the rim of the glass. 
  • Fill glass 1/2 full with ice. Pour limeade mixture into glass. 
  • Top off the glasses with a little club soda. Add a lime wedge to squeeze into each drink. Enjoy!
